Just 4 kilometers from the picturesque town of Navajún, in the heart of the Alcarama mountain range, a geological treasure that has conquered the world lies hidden. We are referring to the pyrite deposit known as “Ampliación a Victoria,” a place that, since its discovery, has redefined mineral collecting.
This deposit was found in the year 1965, and since then, it has been the source of pyrite specimens of exceptional quality and beauty. Over the decades, the Navajún Pyrite has managed to build an international reputation, entering the collecting market with great force. Its perfectly cubic crystals, with an unmistakable metallic luster, are increasingly appreciated and valued by experts and enthusiasts all over the planet.
Thanks to dedicated promotional work and the uniqueness of its minerals, the Navajún Pyrite has become a true benchmark within the field of Spanish mineralogy. Beyond its scientific and economic value, this mineral has transcended its origin to become a distinctive symbol of La Rioja, one of the most recognized and unique jewels that the autonomous community offers to the world.
